POV-Ray is short for "Persistence of Vision Raytracer". It is a high-quality, totally free tool for creating stunning three-dimensional graphics.
It's know worldwide as one of the best 3D programs, and while you will not see it used for a movie, lot of 3D users started with it and most keep it using it.
POV-Ray is available in official versions for Windows, DOS, Macintosh, i86 Linux, SunOS, and Amiga. The source code is available for those wanting to do their own ports. The latest version avaliable is 3.1, and 3.5 is under development.

- What is POV-Ray Ring?
WebRing is a great way to find sites that interest you. Similar sites are grouped in rings and linked together with a simple navigation bar, so you can easily find what you are looking for.
Each ring is created and maintained by an individual web site owner called the RingMaster. RingMasters determine the look and feel of the ring, approve and manage member sites, and encourage other sites to join.
The POV-Ray Ring is a ring dedicated to POV-Ray: image galeries, file archives, tutorials, "howto's", project info, source code patches and more, but always related in some way or another to POV-Ray.

The POV-Ray Ring logo is a golden version of the official POV-Ray logo with a ring around it.

If you have never seen the official POV-Ray logo before, that's because it's very new. It's not used in POV-Ray 3.1, but it is used in the new POV-Ray 3.5.

- What is POV-Ray New Ring?
There is another ring dedicated to POV-Ray, called POV-Ray New Ring. I will here list some differences between the two rings:
